El pasado día 25 de enero un grupo formado por 18 alumnos de 4º curso de ESO y 1º de Bachillerato, acompañados por el profesor David García, la profesora Carmen Morón y la Directora Pedagógica Juana Rodríguez, viajaron hasta la ciudad holandesa de Arentheem para llevar a cabo el primer intercambio cultural entre el C.E. Jaume Balmes y el Arentheem College.
Se trataba de establecer lazos de colaboración entre ambas instituciones con el objetivo de practicar el inglés por parte de nuestros alumnos, y el español por parte de los alumnos holandeses. Por otro lado, todos los alumnos participaban en una presentación en inglés sobre las diferencias y similitudes culturales entre ambos países, como final del proyecto realizado a lo largo de la semana.
Los alumnos convivieron durante 5 días con familias holandesas que acogieron cálidamente a nuestros alumnos en sus casas.
La experiencia ha sido muy positiva y enriquecedora, (a pesar de los 15 grados bajo cero que llegamos a soportar). Ahora nos queda organizar la segunda parte del intercambio, cuando ellos vengan a visitarnos a finales de marzo.
Exchange Arentheem College and C. E. Jaume Balmes
On January 25th a group of 18 students in the 4th year of ESO and 1st year of Bachillerato, accompanied by the English teachers David Garcia and Carmen Moron, and Headmaster Juana Rodriguez, travelled to the Dutch city of Arentheem to carry out the first cultural exchange between the C.E. Jaume Balmes and Arentheem College.
The idea was to set up cooperative ties between both institutions so that our students could practice English and the students from the Netherlands could practice Spanish. In addition, all students were involved in a presentation in English on cultural differences and similarities between both countries, as a final project carried out throughout the week.
The students lived together for 5 days with families from the Netherlands, who warmly welcomed our students into their homes.
The experience was very positive and enriching, (despite the 15 degrees below zero that we had to endure). Now it is our turn to organize the second part of the exchange, when they come to visit us in late March.
